Giancarlo Vulcano is a composer who has worked for many years with Howard Shore on films such as Lord Of The Rings and The Departed. He has composed some fantastic scores to documentaries like Unfinished Spaces. He currently works on the music team for NBC's 30 Rock.
In this interview we talk about documentary scoring and finding the balance between intellectual and emotional music. We also discuss how music functions on a 30-minute comedy such as 30 Rock.

With a huge impressive filmography under his belt it's no wonder Martinez is one of today's top and prestigious composers. His distinct style and sounds make is music unmistakable and his talent for honing in on emotions makes his music unforgettable. In 2011 his films include The Lincoln Lawyer, Contagion and Drive. The extremely talented and versatile Heitor Pereira was kind enough to chat with me about his recent score for The Smurfs. The meat of the interview though is really focused on the collaborative process of telling story through music. Heitor has composed amazing music in scores like Running The Sahara, Haven and Illegal Tender. He's also been collaborating with Hans Zimmer for quite some time co-composing scores like Riding In Cars With Boys and It's Complicated with him. He's been the featured guitarist on many of Hans' scores such as Mission Impossible 2. Lorne has been working with Hans Zimmer for the past few years and has co-composed scores like Megamind and The Dilemma with Hans.
